emptiness [poetry]

Velvet spinning overhead

Cycles haunted with a singular doubt

Does his mind lose itself like hers

Eaten alive from the inside

Does he recall the pink embrace of her lips

Her scent, her heat

Does her ghost torment him

Again and again as he tries to sleep

Sky spinning faster, faster

Or do the stars burn only her

Blind only her eyes

As she revisits his touch like a dream

Wandering these fields for decades

Unseeing, unhearing, lost,

Lost, her mouth seeking his taste

Her hips seeking his weight

Is his night burdened with clouds

Or sweetly free of memories
