swimming at night [poetry]

illicit lights

flashes of guilty radiance

a furtive star, sweep of ill-gotten sunbeam

nimble bodies and quickening limbs

nervous, chilled by unfamiliar wind

upon canvas sky, tulle sand

darkness, an unrelenting lover’s dream

each curl a wash of silence imploring secrecy

a rush of unsettled uncertainty

good, good, no-one’s seen

cold muscles embracing

wet divinity
