watching rain fall [poetry]

imagine if each raindrop held a memory

shrouding it in a pearly embrace

the way amber shelters the remains of the past

catching on eyelashes

slipping over fingertips

purling down my throat

melting into the belly of the earth

I taste you in every one

but I also taste wind, and sky

and dreams
